What's changing in Asele, and why

We've been building quietly for a while, so I wanted to write something a bit more considered than a quick social post about where things are going.

Two big pieces of news first: Asele has been accepted into NVIDIA Inception and the Corti Startup Accelerator. Corti builds AI infrastructure for healthcare. Their models are powering the next version of our recommendations, and that's a meaningful upgrade from what we had before.

But the more interesting story is what we're actually changing in the app, and why.

From phase suggestions to your patterns

Until now, Asele's suggestions were based on cycle phase. You're in the luteal phase, so here's what tends to happen for people in the luteal phase. It's a reasonable starting point, but it's a population average. Your body might not behave like the average at all.

The version we're building toward does something different. Instead of matching you to a phase, it learns from what you actually log. If you consistently feel a certain way a few days before your period, or have a pattern that doesn't match the textbook, the app should pick up on that and reflect it back to you. Your patterns, not someone else's.

That's what the Corti infrastructure makes possible. We're genuinely excited about it.

The Health Brief update

We've also updated the Health Brief to be more useful in an actual appointment. The goal is simple: you shouldn't have to reconstruct your last two months from memory when a doctor asks how you've been feeling. The brief gives you something concrete to bring in or share.

What stays the same

The core of Asele hasn't changed. You can log your period, track symptoms, and get cycle forecasts exactly as before.

The AI-powered features are entirely opt-in. We won't use your data without your permission. If you want the personalised layer, you can switch it on in settings. If you'd rather keep things simple, nothing changes for you.

I want to be clear about that because I know "AI update" can sound like something is being done to you rather than for you. It's opt-in. You decide.
