6. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Where required under EU/EEA law, we process personal data based on:
-
Your consent
-
Performance of a contract (providing the app)
-
Legitimate interests (service improvement and security)
-
Legal obligations
You may withdraw consent at any time.
7. Third-Party Services We Use
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the Services. These providers process data only as necessary to deliver their services and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
Amara AI Assistant
Amara is the AI assistant built into Asele. Amara is powered by OpenRouter, an AI model routing service. Amara does not collect, store, or transmit your personal health data or cycle tracking information. Conversations with Amara are used only to generate a response and are not retained, profiled, or used to train AI models.
AI Health Brief (Corti) — Opt-In Only
The AI Health Brief is an optional feature that generates a personalised health summary based on your tracked data. This feature is powered by Corti, a third-party AI healthcare service.
This feature is off by default. You must explicitly enable it inside the app before any data is shared with Corti. You will be shown a clear consent prompt before it is turned on for the first time.
When you enable the AI Health Brief, the following data is sent to Corti:
-
Aggregated cycle metrics (average cycle length, period length, variability)
-
Top symptoms and moods over your selected timeframe (3, 6, or 12 months)
-
Symptom co-occurrence patterns
-
Medication and supplement adherence patterns
-
Hydration patterns
-
Health conditions, recent procedures, and wellness context you have added to your profile
-
Your preferred name (if set)
Corti is a European AI healthcare company operating under EU data protection law. Asele instructs Corti not to retain your data after generating a response (a "no retention" policy is applied to all requests).
Corti does not use your data for advertising or to train general-purpose AI models. Corti offers an equivalent standard of data protection to Asele.
You can turn off the AI Health Brief at any time in Settings. Turning it off stops any further data being sent to Corti.

15. Community Features
The app includes an in-app community where users can post and comment. You may choose to post anonymously, in which case your username and identity are not visible to other users.
Community content is stored on our secure servers. Do not share personally identifiable health information in community posts that you are not comfortable with other users seeing.
