Pelvic Health Isn’t Just for Moms | Blush & Bloom Podcast | Ep. 11 with Tatiana, Founder of Evie

Pelvic Health Isn’t Just for Moms | Blush & Bloom Podcast | Ep. 11 with Tatiana, Founder of Evie

When it comes to women’s health, there’s one area that is often overlooked, misunderstood, or brushed off as “normal”: pelvic health.

Many women experience urinary incontinence, painful sex, or other pelvic floor issues and are told it’s simply part of having babies or getting older. But as this episode shows, pelvic health isn’t just for moms; it matters at every stage of womanhood.

In this episode of Blush & Bloom, we spoke with Tatiana Chavarriaga Arteaga, a physiotherapist, new mom, and founder of Evie, a digital health platform for pelvic floor care.

She shares her journey from hospital work in Brazil and Colombia to building a startup in Europe, how her own postpartum experience deepened her empathy for patients, and why she’s determined to change how women understand and access pelvic health support.

In This Episode, We Cover

✨ Why pelvic health is often ignored or misunderstood

✨ The social stigma that keeps women silent about symptoms

✨ How Evie provides one-to-one physiotherapy and education online

✨ The role of empathy and trust in building digital health solutions

✨ Why pelvic floor issues are common but not normal

✨ Tatiana’s recognition as an MIT Innovator Under 35

✨ Her advice for women who don’t know where to start

Breaking the Silence Around Pelvic Health

Tatiana first realized how common these issues were not in a hospital, but during a casual night out with friends. One woman shared she leaked urine every time she laughed or jumped, and assumed it was normal.

That moment revealed just how many women were quietly living with conditions like incontinence, prolapse, or constipation without ever seeking help.

Too often, doctors dismiss these concerns as “expected” after pregnancy or with age.

Tatiana argues that this dismissal leads women to normalize pain, discomfort, and even shame when, in fact, these symptoms are treatable.

Building Evie to Offer Real Support

With Evie, Tatiana, and her team, they provide something many women lack: access to expert physiotherapists who listen, assess, and create tailored treatment plans.

From posture checks to daily 20-minute exercises, Evie’s approach helps women retrain their muscles and regain confidence.

Importantly, Evie isn’t just an app full of videos. Women can book consultations, track progress, and always have a real physiotherapist to lean on.

That human touch, Tatiana says, is essential in building trust, especially when dealing with such a sensitive topic.

Why This Matters Beyond Motherhood

A key takeaway from our conversation is that pelvic health affects all women, not only mothers.

Even women without children may experience symptoms like incontinence or painful sex, yet they often assume these problems don’t apply to them. Tatiana emphasizes that every woman deserves to understand her pelvic health, just as much as she understands her skincare or fitness routine.
